We will be weloming Ms. Alba Penado, the winner of our Grand Prize at the 2018 Young and New Professional's Meeting, held on April 24th at SUNY Old Westbury.  For those of you who missed this incredible evening, Alba won an on-line CFE Examination Prep Kit as well as a $100 voucher towards the exam itself.  Let's all come out and show our support for our newest chapter member and a future CFE!!!

Please join the LI ACFE as we welcome Dr. Gerald M. Goldhaber (aka "The Warnings Doctor") to our May meeting.  Dr. Goldhaber is an expert on safety warnings.  His clients have included over 100 of the top 500 corporations in the US, more than half of the top 100 law firms and government agencies (inc. the FDA, the Consumer Product Safety Commission, the USDA and the DOD).  Dr. Goldhaber has consulted on nutritional labels for the FDA, helped to establish guidelines for products ranging from ATV's to soda bottles and warnings necessary for military aircraft, bombs and weapon systems.  Dr. Goldhaber is the author of 10 books and publishes a monthly report entitled the "Goldhaber Warnings Report" for the past 8 years.  Dr. Goldhaber is also CNN's and CNN.Com's chief commentator/analyst for issues dealing with warnings and/or safety communications.

Dr. Goldhaber will speak on a topic addressed in his 11th book, "Murder Incorporated:  How Corporations Kill or Injure Thousands of Americans Every Year - and What You Can Do About It".  Dr. Goldhaber will adress the seven most common behaviours in our lives (residing, eating, working, playing, traveling, healing and communication) and will explain how, due to a lack of safety information, each of the seven can either injure or kill us unless the 'safety triad' of government, manufacturers and consumers follow the steps of 'principled disclosure'.
